What kind of plastic are lifetime tables made of?

04 Apr.,2024

If you’re like me, ordering online can be an overwhelming process and create a great deal of anxiety as nothing is tangible. You only have pictures and descriptions which don’t always deliver on their ‘promises’. Therefore, I rely, heavily, on reviews from real customers (NOT FREE VINE SPONSORED reviewers; because nothing is ‘free’. It’s transactional: the supplier is ‘giving’ their product in EXCHANGE for that ‘customer’s review’. So those types of reviews aren’t reliable in my opinion.)…Therefore, I feel it’s up to real (paying) customers to share their honest feedback about their purchases because we’re all in this online shopping era together. Yet, I digress.

While the table and bench set are pretty straightforward, I was highly impressed with its quality and the simplicity of its use and functionality. Straight out of the box (which is compact into one unit) to set up took less than five minutes. I was also impressed with its size. Tall enough for an average adult (I’m 5’5, 130 lbs) to take a seat at, yet still perfectly sized for young children to sit and enjoy a meal, do homework, or do other activities. As for our purpose for buying this set, we recently moved into our new home and are awaiting a main family table. It should arrive shortly; however, we didn’t want our children (5, 6, and 8) eating on the floor. And while we did purchase it for the children, I have sat with them on it and it accommodated all four of us, very well. Furthermore, we chose this table as once our family table arrives, we will put this portable table in our garden for the children to enjoy outdoor meals, on beautiful Spring/Summer days, and to also take to parks for picnics and other outdoor activities. So, if you’re looking for something for similar purposes, this is an excellent choice.

Please note that depending on the surface it’s being placed, the feet can be “slippery”, as one reviewer mentioned, but non-slip pads will resolve that quite easily.

Hope this helps you in your search for the right product to suit your needs. Best wishes!

Lifetime has a large single-point blow molding plastics facility in Clearfield, Utah, occupying 2,200,000 square feet (200,000 m2), and employs over 2,200 people worldwide.[3] The company produces the only folding chair to comply with the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer's Association (BIFMA), which defines durability standards testing of commercial-grade chairs.[4] Lifetime is headquartered in the Freeport Center in Clearfield, Utah, and has vertically integrated manufacturing facilities in Clearfield, Xiamen, China, and Mascot, Tennessee. History

[

]

In 1972, Lifetime Product's founder, Barry Mower, made a sturdier basketball pole for his backyard using pipe, plywood, and a basketball rim. Seeing the potential in what he had constructed, he placed an ad in the local classifieds and made his first sale.

His business eventually became a sporting goods store, and in March 1986, became Lifetime Products, a name inspired by the goal of building durable and lasting products. Shortly after, the research and design staff created and patented the "Quick Adjust" basketball system, which allowed users to adjust residential basketball rims from 7.5 to 10 feet.

In its first three years, the company grew to 167 employees and occupied 120,000 square feet (11,000 m2) of manufacturing, office, and warehouse space. New equipment, including an electrostatic powder coating operation and a robotic rim welding system, was installed to keep up with demand. A metal fabrication department was also formed to constantly update and improve presses and dies.[citation needed]

Utilizing its expertise in plastics and metals, Lifetime then developed a blow-molded folding picnic table in 1995, a folding banquet table in 1998, and a steel-reinforced blow-molded shed in 2005.

In May 2010, Lifetime acquired the assets of Dragonfly Innovation Corp., a producer of blow-molded kayaks, and kayak production was moved to Lifetime's facilities in Utah.[5] In November 2011, Lifetime acquired Pennsylvania-based Emotion Kayaks, making Lifetime one of the largest kayak manufacturers in the world.[6]

In August 2017, the company expanded US operations by opening a 700,000+ square foot east coast manufacturing and distribution facility in Mascot, TN just east of Knoxville, TN.This new facility will produce Lifetime’s line of water sports products including kayaks and paddleboards, as well as their outdoor Play System line of products. With this new location for manufacturing and distribution, Lifetime will be able to meet its customers’ increasing demand for products with shortened supply chains and faster shipping times. [7]
